Janis, Our Adopted Daughter

We love Janis. She visits often and we are happy. One of Em's best friends for many years, Janis adds flavor to our home.

Andy & Judy

We've lived next to Andy and Judy for nearly 10 years now. We've watched our kids grow up. We've seen jobs come and go. We've seen flower beds born and die.

Takin' Out the Trash

This young man was working hard picking up trash, sweeping up garbage and keeping the fairgrounds in top shape. I couldn't pass up a picture of those great eyes.

Two Tickets, Please

She's not a family or friend but she was so nice. She sold us our tickets for our movie, "Julie & Julia".

Here face was great and her attitude was perfect.

Terry Pankey

We love Terry. You would, too.

Pray for her.

Deb Lee

Deb has been our friend for many years. She has been with us through thick and thin, good and bad. There were many times that I've wondered what we would have done without her.

Some friends and their goat.

Who would have guessed that I could have contact with these "kids" a decade after seeing them on this rock in Colorado? Well, with the help of Facebook, pretty good. Amy, Nicole, Corey and Brian have all found me (or I've found them) and we're chatting again.

It's really pretty amazing to think about. These were some really cool kids and they've gone on to lead really cool lives. They're getting married, having kids of their own, working hard and changing their little corner of the world. Who would have guessed?

Eric's Triumph

I went to college with a guy who wore a boa around his neck. Not the feathery fashion accessory but an actual snake. We were art majors at Ball State and he was a wild man with crazy hair and a crazy life-style.

Through the magic of the internet, I've found Eric again. I don't think he has the snake but he's just as wild and free as he was 20 years ago.

I don't know why, but I've saved this clipping all these years.

Celebrating 50 In Style

My sister-in-law (in the middle) and her friends all turned 50 last year. It was a party fit for royalty.

Dear Friends

Anna, Isaiah, and Sunil Sardar last summer. Anna has gotten even more beautiful (if that is possible). Isaiah has gotten 3 feet taller. And Sunil still has the same great smile.

Our German-Indiana Connection

Taalea was a foreign exchange student who lived with my sister-in-law's family several years ago. She is such a thoughtful young woman. She never fails to send a present for everyone at Christmas.

She is returning to visit this summer and we can't wait to have her in our home once again.

Fun in the Park

After a hard summer of work at Conner Prairie, the youth interpreters took a break to have some water fun.

The Industrial Ice Cream Maker

Mike built an ice cream maker that requires a hand-cart to move from one location to another. Actually, it is mounted on the cart, is run by a gas-powered motor and churns out five delicious gallons of cold, creamy goodness.

In this picture: Mike Shaffer, Todd Hiatt, Ben Austin.

Ross Hiatt

Anita took this picture. It is one of my favorites. The lighting is perfect. The eyes are straight and true.

This is my nephew, Ross. He is one of the biggest kids I've ever seen. Younger than my youngest son, he is nearly as tall as my 19 year old. His eyes give away the brilliant mind. He gentle and quiet. He is also ornery, just like his father.

Brandon Daugherty

Brandon is my neighbor. Have you ever seen deeper, blue pools? He is just as sweet as he looks.
